UM Zero Waste Campaign (UM ZWC) - Alam Flora

As part of our long-term commitment to support 3R initiatives and our 'UM No Single-Use Plastics and Waste Separation at Source Policy,' UM Zero Waste Campaign (UM ZWC) collaborates with Alam Flora Sdn. Bhd. and our dedicated campus sustainability strategic partner - Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs) and UM Sustainability and Development Centre (UM SDC), we would like to invite all of you to support our:

9th UM - Alam Flora 3R on Wheels

HOW DOES THIS CAMPAIGN WORK?

1. You have the recyclables: papers, boxes, aluminum, tin, plastics, tetrapak, used-cooking oils, and even electronic waste (E-waste).
2. Bring them all to the assigned venue to hand it over to the respective staff in charge at the 3R on Wheels facilities any time of the day (between 9 am – 3 pm).
3. Your recyclables are divided into two categories:
   A: Tin, Aluminium, and used-cooking oils (3 points)
   B: Newspapers, papers, magazines, plastics (1 point)
4. You are rewarded with cash and PETRONAS Mesra Card reward points. All your accumulated points are redeemable at any nearest PETRONAS MESRA Shop/outlet. Please bring your PETRONAS Card along with you to collect your points.

HURRY UP! LET'S START RECYCLING! RECYCLING would be easier and more successful if we START WITH WASTE SEPARATION AT SOURCE (SAS)! This initiative is our collective effort in promoting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities among our staff and students. Be part of this campaign! Be the Change!

PLEASE REMEMBER TO ADHERE TO ALL STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOP) IN PARTICIPATING IN OUR EVENT:

1. Kindly wear a mask at all times.
2. Please keep your physical distancing of at least 1 meter apart from one another.
3. No physical contact such as a handshake, etc.
4. Always use hand sanitizer or wash hands frequently: pre and post-activity.
5. Remember to scan the QR Code using MySejahtera App.
6. Kindly leave the venue as soon as you have completed your turn: hand over your recyclables & reward transaction with Alam Flora staff. Please allow our UM Sustainability team (UM ZWC) to record your recyclable data for our monthly reporting.
