Dear UM Researchers,
Universiti Malaya Sustainable Development Centre (UMSDC) is inviting eligible researchers to submit proposals for the UM Living Labs Towards Just Net Zero Grant (Cycle 3).
This short call aims to support innovative and impactful initiatives that contribute towards Universiti Malaya’s target of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2030. While priority will be given to Non-Science & Technology (Non-S&T) proposals, Science & Technology (S&T) proposals are also welcome for consideration.
All applications will be internally shortlisted according to the quota allocation provided.
Application is open for 2 weeks only, from 6 November 2025 (Thursday) until 20 November 2025 (Thursday), 5:00 PM.
Please note that the grant account will be activated within this year for approved projects.
Applicants are encouraged to refer to the UM Living Labs Grant Manuals & Guidelines before submitting their proposals.

The grant is capped at RM30,000 per application.
All proposals will be evaluated by panel assessors and only those recommended will be considered for approval. Requests for higher amounts will not be entertained.
Interested applicants are required to submit a softcopy of their proposal using the official application form to UMSDC email: umsdc@um.edu.my

Virement Policy: Virement is allowed only twice per active project. Project leaders are advised to plan and manage their budgets carefully to ensure effective use of funds.
Publication Costs: Page charge payments are strictly not allowed under this vote or from this grant.
Travel & Training: Payments for attending conferences, short courses, or training programmes, whether domestic or international, are not allowed under this grant.
