Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings is one of the world entities to assess and rank universities across the globe against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The universities, including Universiti Malaya (UM) were assessed through THE’s calibrated indicators in order to provide comprehensive and balanced comparison across four broad areas: research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.
UM is committed to address both global and local issues as expressed in the United Nations’ SDGs by participating in this ranking.
UNIVERSITI MALAYA RISES TO 63rd IN TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION (THE) IMPACT RANKINGS 2024
Universiti Malaya (UM) has achieved an impressive milestone by securing the 63rd position in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024. This significant leap in the rankings highlights UM's steadfast commitment to excellence and sustainable development, marking a notable improvement compared to last year's performance.
UM's distinguished performance is particularly evident in three specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where the university has demonstrated exceptional achievements: No Poverty (SDG 1), Gender Equality (SDG 5) and Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7).
UM's rise in the rankings is a testament to the university's dedication to addressing critical global challenges and promoting sustainable practices. The UM community remains dedicated to pursuing excellence and creating a meaningful impact on both local and global scales.
