Sustainability Reporting

A campus sustainability report is a document published by the university which includes economic, environmental, and social impacts caused by its everyday activities. A sustainability report also presents the organization's values and governance model and demonstrates the link between its strategy and its commitment to a sustainable global economy.

A. Campus Sustainability Reporting

Campus sustainability reporting can help universities measure, understand and communicate their economic, environmental, social, and governance performance, set goals, and manage change more effectively. A campus sustainability report is a key platform for communicating sustainability performance and positive or negative impacts.

Supplementary Special Sustainability Report:

A Supplementary Special Sustainability Report is an additional report produced by an organization to provide in-depth information on specific aspects of its sustainability efforts. It is typically published alongside a primary or annual sustainability report but focuses on particular areas that need further detail, such as:

  • Key Sustainability Initiatives – Highlighting major initiatives that are critical to the organization's sustainability goals but require more elaboration than provided in the main report.

  • Emerging Issues – Addressing new sustainability challenges, regulations, or innovations that arose after the main report was published, or that require more focused attention.

  • Targeted Stakeholder Communication – Providing additional transparency and insight for particular stakeholders (e.g., investors, regulatory bodies, NGOs) on specific sustainability performance metrics, actions, or achievements.

  • Supplementary Data and Performance Metrics – Offering extra data, case studies, or KPIs to support the claims and goals stated in the primary report, particularly if stakeholders have asked for more detailed or specific information.

  • Updates on Progress – If there are significant changes or progress in sustainability programs between regular reporting cycles, a supplementary report can update stakeholders on these developments.

These reports serve to enhance transparency and accountability, helping to build trust with stakeholders by providing more granular or up-to-date information on sustainability issues.
