[Invitation] Webinar on Decolonisation of Bioethics: Lessons for Southeast Asia

Dear UM Community

We are pleased to announce our upcoming event that will set you thinking about the direction of bioethics in Southeast Asia.There are growing calls on the international front to decolonise the intellectual and methodological foundation of bioethics. Through engagement with our panellists who are experts in the bioethics decolonisation movement, this webinar will explore the relationship between decolonisation, equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives, epistemic justice and the age-old Asian vs Western bioethics debate.

Our panellists will explore:

  • The concept of decolonisation and its implications to bioethics
  • The declonisation of bioethics movement in Africa
  • Whether bioethics in Southeast Asia needs to be decolonised
  • What actions and practices are required from bioethics stakeholders
