UM Sustainability and Development Centre (UM SDC) is pleased to share that two UM members are represented in two national-level strategic workshops hosted by the Department of Environment (DoE), Putrajaya. Ir. Dr. Khairunnisa Hasikin (Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering UM) and Dr. Mohd Istajib Mokhtar (Department of Science and Technology Studies, Faculty of Science UM) both contributed their expertise, ideas, and input throughout Focus Group Discussions (FGD):
1) Langkawi Award on Environmental Sustainability (ALKAS) Workshop
This workshop focused on the Award itself to enhance its visibility, promotion, and participation nationwide. This Award is the highest national level recognition for individuals and organizations with significant contributions in the environmental field (management, business, scientific research, academic, publication, and other areas).
2) 12th Malaysia Plan Workshop on Environmental Compliance Star Ratings Study
UPM Consultancy Sdn Bhd co-hosts this workshop in its progress to complete the Environmental Compliance Star Rating studies. The studies aim to assess and classify industrial players in accordance with the Environmental Quality Act 1974 [Akta Kualiti Alam Sekeliling (AKAS) 1974].
