UMSDC & Water Warriors collaborated as Invited Judge and Exhibitor
at the Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Fest 2023 (KLEFF) x AirKita Exhibition, hosted by EcoKnights
In a remarkable collaboration geared towards sustainability, Universiti Malaya Sustainable Development Centre (UMSDC) received the invitation from EcoKnights as exhibition partner and invited judge for the esteemed 15th International Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Fest (KLEFF) 2023, with Associate Professor Dr. Zeeda Fatimah Mohamad, Director of UMSDC joined the judges seat for the KLEFF 2023 submissions.
EcoKnights, a renowned environmental NGO dedicated in promoting sustainable living and environmental conservation, served as the driving force behind the KLEFF x AirKita Exhibition. EcoKnights provided a platform for organizations and individuals to showcase innovative solutions and initiatives aimed at fostering environmental sustainability. KLEFF is Malaysia’s first and longest-serving creative platform promoting sustainable living. Organized annually since 2008, KLEFF’s mission is to accelerate mainstreaming of sustainable living and stewardship of the environment through the power of audio-visual materials and activities.
As an exhibitor at the KLEFF x AirKita Exhibition, UMSDC and Water Warriors had the opportunity to showcase its campus sustainability efforts in promoting sustainable practices and advancing the green agenda from the context of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). From eco-friendly initiatives to pioneering action research projects called UM Living Labs, visitors engaged with informative displays, and joined an interactive sustainability workshops and sustainability forum, while witnessing firsthands the winning eco films showcased at the Festival.
The partnership between the UMSDC and Ecoknights exemplified the spirit of collective action towards environmental conservation and education. With the spirit of 'Inspire, Be Inspired', we believe that by coming together, we are able to reinforce our shared sustainability commitment in walking the talk by reaching out to wider community towards a greener, more sustainable future for all.
