Congratulations to Gamuda Parks (through Gamuda Land) and the respective Malaysian universities, namely Universiti Malaya (UM) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and Memorandum of Collaboration with UniKL dated 27 July 2022. The signing ceremony was hosted by Gamuda at Discovery Park of Gamuda Cove. 

The areas of collaboration cover the following initiatives:
1) UM and UKM with Gamuda Parks on Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands (PIDW) Water Quality enhancement project. 
2) UniKL and Gamuda on advocacy of better waste and material management.
3) UM and Gamuda Land on the Wetland Arboretum Gallery Curation project.
Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Nor Badrul Anuar Juma'at (Associate Vice-Chancellor of Infrastructure and Information Services) attended as a signee of UM, while LAr. Khariza Abdul Khalid (Executive Director of Gamuda Land) represented Gamuda Land. UM delegation on the day of the ceremony includes the Director of International Relations Office (IRO), Acting Director of UM Industry Liaison Office (UM ILO), Director of UM Sustainability and Development Centre (UM SDC), and key researchers from the Faculty of Science UM and Rimba Ilmu.

In short, these sustainability partnerships are aligned with the Gamuda Green Plan (GGP) with sets of targets driven by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). The goal is to reduce direct and indirect corporate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions intensity by 30% in 2025 and 45% in 2030.
