UM Student-led Projects Empowerment with Sustainability Approach
Sustainability enculturation for UM campus community is one of the mandates entrusted to UM Sustainability and Development Centre (UMSDC). Moving forward in 2023, UMSDC, with the strategic engagement of UM Residential Colleges Manager, is now working collaboratively to empower UM student-led projects to be sustainable holistically.
As of March 2023, UMSDC receives requests from the following student groups for discussion and consultation:
Sustainable Fashion Project proposed by Luqman, a student from the Department of International and Strategic Studies, FASS UM
Project Bravo 6.0 on humanitarian by 5th Residential College
The discussion aims to improve and empower the projects with the holistic sustainability approach: management, content, cost, execution, reporting, and the embedment of sustainability practices and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) tailored to the project goals and vision.
UMSDC welcomes all student groups to explore opportunities to enhance their project collectively and sustainably. In 2023, we also encourage topics on sustainability within UM or in Klang Valley as students' Final Year Projects (FYP) from all faculties and academies.
