Universiti Malaya and Tokyo Metropolitan University in collective sustainability partnership co-hosted inaugural TMU-UM Webinar on Sustainability Journey of City Campuses 2023

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our distinguished guests, speakers, organizing teams (International Affairs Office - TMU & UM Sustainability and Development Centre - UM SDC) and participants from Tokyo Metropolitan University and Universiti Malaya, in making the inaugural sustainable city campuses webinar a success. 

This event showcased the collaborative spirit and forward-thinking approach of two esteemed institutions from Japan and Malaysia, provided a fascinating insight into the sustainable practices adopted by city campuses, emphasizing the pivotal role universities play in shaping environmentally conscious communities from both tangible and intangible approach. Topic highlights include urban heat island, carbon neutral campus, green spaces conservation, and sustainable lifestyle enculturation and leadership. 

Beyond the exchange of ideas, this webinar served as a bridge connecting diverse perspectives and cultures. The shared commitment to sustainability demonstrated that, regardless of geographical boundaries, the pursuit of a better, eco-conscious world unites us all. Such collaborations contribute significantly to fostering understanding and appreciation for the varied approaches to sustainability.
