Special thanks to Sri Bestari Private School for their visit to UM Research Gallery 2022. A group of 65 students of Grade 3 accompanied by their educators participated in this visit.
UM Sustainability and Development Centre (UMSDC) is proud to be part of the program hosted by UM Research Gallery with the introductory sustainability sharing session. This session is divided into three:
a) Dr. Mary Lee Hong Gee on "Safe Disposal of Unused Medicines (Safe D.U.M.P) and Do It Right Campaign (Faculty of Pharmacy UM with support of CARiNG Pharmacy)
b) Mr. Fadly Bakhtiar on "Old Soles New Life Campaign" (EcoKnights)
c) Mr. Affan Nasaruddin on "Plastic: You & Me" (Water Warriors, UMSDC)
This early exposure to sustainability in a light approach to a group of young audiences goes well with our Malay sayings: 'melentur buluh biarlah dari rebungnya' with its English equivalent of 'strike while the iron is hot.' UMSDC is home to the Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCE Central Semenanjung), and we promote ESD through our activities and engagement on various platforms.
