The 'Majlis Amanat Tahun Baharu Naib Canselor 2024' took place on February 19, 2024, at Dewan Tunku Canselor Universiti Malaya, marking a significant annual event that serves as a vital platform for sharing the University's achievements, plans, and trajectory with the entire campus community. Deeply rooted in our university's rich traditions, this gathering brought together faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders to not only reflect on past accomplishments but also to chart a braver and daring course for the future.
A prominent aspect of the event was the unveiling of the university's strategic plans and vision for the future. Professor Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Noor Azuan Abu Osman, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaya delineated key priorities, underscoring innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability as fundamental pillars.
During his address, the Vice-Chancellor introduced the university's new statement (tagline): "Home of the Bright, Land of the Brave" or Di Sini Bermulanya Pintar, Tanah Tumpahnya Berani, in Malay. This tagline encapsulates the essence of our institution - a place where bright minds flourish and courageous hearts lead. It signifies our unwavering commitment to fostering excellence, courage, and resilience among all members of our community, all bound together under the banner of "Home of the Bright, Land of the Brave."
