Broadening Our Horizon Online Forum 2023

The  Climate Risk and Governance in Malaysia - Broadening Our Horizon Online Forum 2023, held in conjunction with the National Climate Governance Summit 2023, proved to be a significant milestone in the ongoing dialogue surrounding climate risk and governance in Malaysia. Hosted by Climate Governance Malaysia and Universiti Malaya (led by UM Sustainability and Development Centre), the event brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, including policymakers, academics, researchers, and student leader, to deliberate on crucial issues related to climate change.

The forum initiated discussions on the specific climate risks faced by Malaysia, ranging from extreme weather events to long-term environmental impacts. Participants engaged in comprehensive analyses to understand the multidimensional challenges and potential vulnerabilities, fostering a shared understanding of the urgency to address these issues.

Emphasizing the need for collaborative action, the event also highlighted successful case studies of partnerships between government bodies, private enterprises, academic institutions, and civil society. Discussions revolved around innovative solutions, technological advancements, the role of youth, and best practices in climate governance that can be applied to enhance Malaysia's resilience to climate-related challenges.
