Dr. Wong Siew Te is a renowned conservationist known for his work with sun bears in Sabah, Malaysia. Sun bears, also known as Helarctos malayanus, are the smallest bear species and are found in Southeast Asia, including the forests of Sabah on the island of Borneo.

Dr. Wong Siew Te is the founder and CEO of the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC), which is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of sun bears in Sabah. The center aims to provide a safe and natural environment for sun bears that have been rescued from illegal wildlife trade or other forms of exploitation. BSBCC also conducts research and public education to raise awareness about sun bears and their conservation.

Dr. Wong Siew Te's work has been instrumental in shedding light on the plight of sun bears and the threats they face in the wild, including habitat loss and poaching. His dedication to sun bear conservation has earned him international recognition and support for his efforts to protect these unique and endangered animals.
