[Invitation] IOES HICoE Seminar 2024 on Air-Ocean-Land Interactions in a Changing Climate

Dear esteemed colleagues and students,

On behalf of the organizing committee, we would like to welcome all to join us for the Institute of Ocean and Earth Sciences (IOES) HICoE SEMINAR 2024 on 25th July 2024 at Auditorium, Advanced Studies Complex, Universiti Malaya. The theme for this year's seminar is "Air-Ocean-Land Interactions in a Changing Climate”.

IOES is one of the Higher Institution Centers of Excellence (HICoE), a program under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) implemented by the Department of Higher Education to drive research excellence of HEIs in the field of niche research. Through this program, JPT awards a HICoE rating to a high-performing Center of Excellence (CoE) in the field of niche research. The awarded HICoE had an impact on the production of new research talent, the publication of high-impact journals as well as the production of innovations that can benefit academia, industry, government, the community and the environment.

 

We invite you to attend and engage in discussions about the latest research and developments in the following niche programmes: 

📌Programme 1: Understanding the influence of variabilities in atmospheric and oceanic processes, including transboundary air pollution, under a changing climate.
📌Programme 2: Gaining insights into the drivers and their interactions that influence coastal ecosystems in a changing climate.

📌Programme 3: Exploring the interaction of various climate change parameters on algae and fungi using 'omics' approaches.
